About us: Living In Purpose

Hi, I’m Kemi. At the age of 18, I decided to start my journey as a hairstylist. I told God I wanted to be booked and busy, and He answered that prayer, sustaining it for the past six years. It felt like I was the main character in my own story, like I could write my future the way I’d often heard about. However, one day, God revealed to me Proverbs 19:21: “A person may have many ideas concerning God’s plan for his life, but only the designs of God’s purpose will succeed in the end.”That verse became my anchor.

As a young adult in my twenties, still figuring out life, I often reflect on that verse and ask myself, Is this God’s purpose for my life? While God answered my initial prayer, He began revealing that He has created me for so much more. From that moment, I made a commitment to plan my day not based on my own desires, but to actively seek God’s purpose for me. I strive to intentionally wake up each day and ask the Holy Spirit, What do You have in store for me today? How can I yield to Your plan?

Living in God’s purpose requires discipline, submission, and obedience, even in the face of uncertainty. But we serve a God who works everything together for our good. As it is written in Habakkuk 2:2-3: “Write down the vision and make it plain, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. The vision is for a future time…”
